This is our wooden depth map of New Zealand (NZ)
.
In the east, the Chatham rise stretches all the way out towards the the Chatham islands, never dropping below 500m deep. Kaikoura sits just above this rise, and the deep gully makes it possible to see whales here close to shore. In the north-east corner sits the Kermadec trench, showing where the alpine fault line extends through.

We design and build all our maps right here in New Zealand. To make geography accurate, each layer is laser cut. We then paint and assemble them by hand. Find out more about our maps, bespoke additions, and how they're made.
