This handcrafted wooden depth map captures the Whakatane and Waiotahe coast in full - the Whakatane River mouth, the long sweep of Ohope Beach, Ohiwa Harbour, and the deep blue of the Bay of Plenty beyond. Laser-cut from premium European Birch in our Auckland studio, and hand-painted layer by layer to reveal the seafloor beneath.

How it's made

It starts with the ocean itself - bathymetric data recording the actual depth of the floor, contour by contour. The wood is laser-cut to those exact contours, painted in graduated tones from shallow turquoise to deep blue, and assembled entirely by hand by our team in Auckland. Every map is made this way - slowly, carefully, until the seafloor comes to life.

Yes - we offer a full guarantee on craftsmanship. If you're not happy when your map arrives, or any time in the next 5 years, let us know and we'll make it right. Our small team takes real pride in the build quality of everything we send out.

How long will it take to make?
Every map is made to order in our Auckland studio. Allow 10-14 days from your order date, plus shipping. If you need it by a specific date, get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate.
