🐟 Kaimoana & Coastlines: Seafood, Storytelling & Sea Life at Hutchwilco 2025

Celebrating Culinary Traditions at the Kai Collective + NZ’s Coastal Culture

🌊 Where the Sea Feeds the Story: Kaimoana at Hutchwilco 2025

This year’s Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show (May 15–18, 2025) is about more than boats and big catches—it's about the stories we tell around the sea, and the meals we share from it.

With the addition of the Kai Collective, this year’s show takes a delicious dive into New Zealand’s seafood (kaimoana) traditions. You'll find cooking demos, local producers, and chefs celebrating the ocean’s bounty.

From smoked kahawai to pāua fritters and modern takes on kina, it’s a beautiful reminder that boating and fishing aren’t just about adventure—they’re about connection.

🔪 What Is the Kai Collective?

New in 2024 and returning bigger in 2025, the Kai Collective celebrates the link between:

  • Seafood and culture

  • Harvesting and sustainability

  • Ocean and identity

Whether you're a seasoned fisho or a coastal cook, you'll love the live seafood demos, interactive tasting sessions, and kaimoana storytelling happening throughout the show.
