That’s our regular $149 mini, plus $150 extra for designing a unique piece, just for you.

Any stretch of coast or lake, anywhere in the world, made into one of our 22 × 22 cm minis. Frame your spot, check the sketch, then add it to your cart. We’ll email you a proof before we cut anything.

How it works

  1. You frame your spot. Anywhere in the world with a coastline or a lake. The sketch above is a rough idea, drawn from public depth data.
  2. We draw it properly. Once your order’s in, we draw your mini by hand from detailed charts and email you a proof. That takes about a week.
  3. We build it. Once you’re happy with the proof, we laser cut it, hand-paint it and put it together in our Auckland workshop. That’s another week, plus shipping.

What’s in a mini?
Four layers, 22 × 22 cm, laser cut from birch plywood. Three ocean layers are painted in shades of blue to show the depths, and the top layer is the land, sanded and oiled, with the frame built in.

We make a lot of places already, and those are ready to go at $149, with no design fee. Have a look at the minis first.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. We offer a full guarantee on craftsmanship. If you’re not happy when your map arrives - or any time in the next 3 years - let us know and we’ll make it right.

The small print: we may later add your design to our range and sell it as one of our regular $149 minis. The $299 you pay covers the time it takes to design your spot, and you’ll have the very first one we make.
