Sizing guide

How our sizes work.

Every map we make comes in one of four sizes, from a shelf-sized square to a full feature wall. This page is the honest guide to what each size actually looks like in a room.

It applies across the range, standard maps and custom builds alike.

The four sizes

From 40 centimetres to 1.2 metres.

Small

40 Γ— 40 cm Β· up to 6 layers

A touch bigger than a framed vinyl record. Suits hallways, kitchens, shelves, and gallery walls where people see it up close.

Medium map held for scale

Medium, held for scale

Medium

60 Γ— 60 cm Β· up to 7 layers

The width of a standard oven, squared. Holds its own on most walls without dominating the room.

About as wide as an interior doorway. A proper feature piece for lounge and dining walls.

How they relate

Every size comes off the same sheet.

Extra Large is the full sheet. Large is exactly half of it.

Choosing

Which size for your wall?

Match the viewing distance

Spots where people stand close, like hallways, kitchens, and above a desk, suit Small and Medium. The layered detail is right in front of you. Rooms you look across, like the lounge or dining room, suit Large and Extra Large, which read clearly from metres away.

Test it with masking tape

Mark the size out on the wall with masking tape and live with it for a day. It's the quickest way to know, and it costs nothing.

Torn between two? Go bigger

Art nearly always looks smaller on the wall than it does in your head. If you're stuck between two sizes, the bigger one is usually the right call.

One honest caveat

Coastlines aren't square. Exact dimensions shift a little from design to design, so the product listing always shows the exact centimetres for that map.

Need something between sizes, a long panoramic piece, or a multi-panel feature wall? That's exactly what custom designs are for.
