How they're made

Each map starts by sourcing the appropriate topographic data source. We spend hours in design making sure the contours appear smooth yet accurate, and the whole map feels balanced. From there, we paint and laser-cut sheets of wood to bring the landscape to life. Every piece is assembled by hand by our team in our Auckland studio.

This particular piece is the largest and most complex map we make — nearly 700 pieces, hand-assembled layer by layer, until the topography of the whole country comes alive on your wall.

Your map is made in our Auckland studio once you place your order — we don't keep this piece on the shelf. Because of its scale and complexity, please allow 4 weeks from your order date, and we'll keep you updated as yours is made.

If you're ordering for a gifting deadline or a specific installation date, please let us know before purchasing — we'll work with you to make it happen.

Personalise it

Because this is the largest and most complex piece we make, we recommend getting in touch before purchasing if you'd like to personalise it — a family name, a favourite mountain, a place that means something. How long will it take to make?
This piece is made to order in our Auckland studio and takes around 4 weeks from your order date, plus shipping. If you need it by a specific date, get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Can I personalise it?
Yes — but given the scale and complexity of this map, we'd rather have a proper conversation with you before you order. Send us a message with what you're thinking and we'll take it from there.

Will it be safe to ship?
Yes — because of the size, we build a custom crate for this piece and use a specialist courier service. Shipping cost varies by destination; if you're outside New Zealand, please get in touch first so we can quote it accurately.

Do you ship overseas?
Yes — we ship worldwide, but shipping this piece internationally requires a quote given its size and value. Get in touch and we'll work out the cost to your country.

How is it delivered / installed?
The map comes strung and ready to hang, and we include installation guidance. For NZ deliveries within the Auckland area we can arrange white-glove delivery on request.
