Coromandel Peninsula II

I met Matt and Kate at the Wooden Boats Festival in Hobart Tasmania and was very impressed with their display of 3D maps. I asked them to make me a Tasmanian map, it arrived this week and is now hanging in my living room. It is a beautiful piece of art and attracts a lot of attention. We brought a TidesOut map for my Dad's birthday and the process was so easy. Matt and Kate were so good to work with and their communication throughout the building stage was awesome. I purchased a Tides Out Map of the Marlborough Sounds and Cook Straight region as a wedding gift. Our friends loved it! In fact, they commented about the geographical accuracy of the map. As keen fisher people, they could plainly see favourite fishing spots. I'm sure they will treasure the picture.

I had Matt and Kate create a map of a very special place to us in Tonga, where we own a business. My kids and I gifted it to my husband for a special birthday. He absolutely loves it! I heard about Tides Out through my son who had just received maps of New Zealand and Ireland. I thought what a wonderful idea and commissioned a map of Scotland for my wife. Matt and Kate have been wonderful people to deal with and their product is exceptional. I was able to collect my map from them and see their workshop. They’ve got a variety of different maps available and they are happy to work with you if you need something that hasn’t been requested before. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

My one-off map from TidesOut is absolutely STUNNING! I was nervous commissioning a map of my wife's Canadian home - Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia - as a big birthday surprise. What an epic way to showcase my adventure with my other half and some epic mates. We flew through to Doughboy and hunted through there and had such a good time. Beautifully captured in this art work. It looks fantastic and so detailed and accurate, that we actually use it to point out, and come up with a plan the night before when we go diving and fishing about where we want to go. I love looking at this carefully crafted artwork everyday and my friends and family are especially admiring of it. The frame is a nice quality and the layers of different blues depicting the ocean depths really stand out. Nice to have the added etched detail of a surfboard to mark a favourite place in the Coromandel.

What an easy, no fuss experience it was ordering our custom made 'Tides Out' map. There was great communication from start to finish -with regular updates and pictures of our creation along the way. Very cool piece of artwork on display in our home of our local harbour. Matt was excellent to deal with and even went the extra mile to add in our own touch to make our map unique for us, would highly recommend and use Matt again.

Tide Out Maps caught our eye at the Auckland Home Show with their unique decorative concept of Marine charts. Having been boating on the Hauraki Gulf for over 20 years it has become a special place with fantastic memories. We had a large wall space just waiting for the right piece of art. I had a map of Samoa made for my husband who is a map geek. It looks really cool on the wall and I haven't seen anything like it elsewhere. We've had it on the wall for over a year and the colour and layers all look brand new - a nod to the craftsmanship and quality. After placing the order Matt reached out to understand the personal connection and mark a specific location on the map which makes it really special to us. Would recommend to others looks for a custom, unique art.

Great job and map now has pride of place on my living room wall. In addition to the map I also love the bespoke compass that is based around a diving gannet (takapu). My love of the Hauraki Gulf and its islands comes from my experiences of its seabirds which use its waters to feed. The map captures all these elements.
